Osteoarthritis
March 6, 2026
Osteoarthritis occurs when the flexible, protective tissue at the ends of bones, called cartilage, wears down. This gradually happens and worsens over time.
Joints in the hands, neck, lower back, knees and hips are commonly affected.
Medicines, physical therapy and, sometimes, surgery can help reduce pain and maintain joint movement.
