3 common causes of vaginal pain

Doctors believe that vaginal pain could originate from the actual vagina or from the labia or vulva; it also may arise from the pelvic region. So, we will discuss the most common causes of vaginal pain.

2. Bartholin's cyst: Bartholin's gland lies in the vagina and is responsible for vaginal lubrication. 3. Endometriosis: it means the presence of tissues of the lining layer of the uterus in areas outside the uterus (mainly in the pelvis). This condition is manifested mainly with severe vaginal pain during intercourse as well as during menses. This pain is usually accompanied by other symptoms such as painful urination and abnormal bowel movement. Management of this case includes hormonal therapy; surgical intervention may be needed in resistant cases.
