3 Important urinary signs and its pathological indications

  1. Frequent urination

The daily range of urination is an important indicator for body status of hydration; it's usually 6-8 times daily. If daily urination exceeded this range, it could be due to drinking too much fluids or consuming too much caffeine (caffeine in coffee and tea has a diuretic effect). Frequent urination could be due to many pathological causes, such as; cystitis, overactive bladder, prostate problems in men, some cardiovascular problems as well as uterine prolapse in women.

  1. Change in urine color

The normal usual color of urine is umber yellow. Reddish urine develops due to presence of blood in urine, which could be a serious medical condition (such as urinary tract infection, stones, tumors… etc.) and needs medial consultation. On the other hand, dark brown urine could be due to dehydration or hepatic problems.

  1. Urinary incontinence

It means losing the control of urination and involuntary leakage of urine especially in coughing, laughing, sneezing or straining. It develops due to urethral muscles weakness or overweight which puts extra pressure on the bladder, also nerve damage and aging could be a reason for urinary incontinence.
