  1. Hemorrhoids: it's the most common cause of rectal bleeding. It develops as congested painful blood vessels inside the rectum and anus, these congested blood vessels are ruptured and then the patient notice blood in the toilet or in the underwear.
  2. Anal fissures: they are tears in the tissue around the anus; it's usually manifested with rectal pain and rectal bleeding during and after bowel movement. Excessive straining (chronic constipation or recurrent diarrhea) is usually the cause of anal fissures.
  3. Diverticulosis: it develops in the form of pockets or diverticula in the weak points in the inner lining of the bowel. These pockets are filled with blood, which rupture later and the patient notice excessive bleeding per rectum.
  4. Cancer colon: rectal bleeding could be a sign of cancer colon especially if associated with unexplained weight loss.

Management of rectal bleeding depends mainly on detecting the cause and dealing with it. Anti-bleeding drugs (such as vitamin K) is very important to stop active episode of bleeding. It's advised to eat high-fiber diet and drink plenty amount of water. Constipation and diarrhea should be avoided as possible.
